@Bryan brother.. hit a snag here... while following the instructions/manual for configuring mount points found here:
I seem to have different options... per the manual.. I'm supposed to be looking @
    [IMG]

    and instead.. my options are:

could there be a setting / privilege on my user account that allows me that tab? Going crazy readong the server handbook / install instructions to see if I find mention of it.. nada so far

They've jammed a massive number of features and facilites into the device. It's pretty small, and the control panl window has to be a bit cryptic with some quite deep hierarchies. It's got a slide out USB connector, and you can do a bit of management on a connected computer. Stupid Windows keeps telling me that there is something wrong with the device, and I need to let Bill Gates restructure it for me - pork will be in the trees. :)

I'm not sure why I don't use the Linux machine. I guess I still think of it as the junior partner, but often it's better than the Windows machine.

Sorry I've been the slow party in this. I don't think I'm going toget a chance to try live streaming for some time. One of the reasons I was interested in live streaming was the developing association with ham radio. With the possibility of interruptions in Internet services in the future, ham radio seemed to be a useful backup. There is a packet transfer system in existence, but I gather it's rather like using a 1200 baud dial-up modem.

The use of stored streams to provide comments on various topics is useful to me, and I would like to continue to develop this area.

@Joe Rodriguez Very good question! I don't see that tab anywhere, or how to enable it. Can't find anything like that anywhere. There are some settings that allow the entire server to be used as a relay (from what I can tell) but I don't see anything else related to that really.

There is one on mountpoint relays, but it appears to only be in the admin settings and specific mount points have to be set.

Any of that make sense? ha ha!

And now the bandwidth has kinda updated. Showing 4.2 GB out, which is certainly closer to realistic. Took forever to update though.

Yea it does... I have the ability to setup the server as a "Mountpoint Relaying" server ( via Icecast ), which essentially, inherits and relays all mountpoints and their respective sources/streams.

Incidentally... the tab layout that I see when setting up mount points correlates with the instructions for Icecast Mount points: [ Manual: Mount Point Options (IceCast) ]

What I'm looking to do is part of the Centova's Shoutcast(v2) setup [ Manual: Mount Point Options (SHOUTcast v2) ]...

You can actually see that the tab layout I'm looking for is there on their "demo" panel @
    * scratching my head still *

Even still.. I've been discovering the limitations one would face with using mount points.
    1. You can only have 1 AutoDJ instance parsing playlist
      • multiple mount points for the AutoDJ instance is possible. The sum in bandwidth of all AutoDJ mountpoints cannot exceed 320kbps. ( u can divide the bandwidth )
        • /autodj_main [ 192kbps ]
        • /autodj_mobile [ 128kbps ]
    2. Server cannot have AutoDJ running AND relay a remote stream simultaneously.

On another note.. Centova's utilizing Icecast to provide the Shoutcast(v1) protocol. The direct link to the stream is [ http://23.92.66.150:8012/stream ] ( heck u can browse to that url in chrome to listen from within chrome ).. so when u visit http://23.92.66.150:8012/ u reach the icecast web interface... gotta figure out if/how to use the shoutcast(v2) features.

    will keep diggin lol...

I am just a bit concerned that everything I "see" in Centova's control panel and in the server's index page points to Icecast and not Shoutcast... ( I think I know why by the way.. theory will be at end of post ). Reason I find this a concern just boils down to 1 specific thing, since they both do essentially the same thing ( Ice & Shout(v2) ). Both servers report to a public listings directory that's exclusive to the server software:

The reason this is a concern for me.. is mostly because the shoutcast directory listing has way more visitors than the icecast listing. So those on the shoutcast list tend to have more listeners than icecast. Mostly because of it's more established "branding" from when Nullsoft.

    ----

    Theory:
I believe.. that during account creation you chose [ IceCast v2 ] for me :) As such I don't have access to that tab layout which is specific to the [ ShoutCast DNAS v2.x ] option.

fyi.. ShoutCast v1.x does not support mount points.

ok.. enough chat.. more test.. ty @Bryan

    @Joe Rodriguez

Turns out the template I was using was not allowing me to select Shoutcast, rather was using the default. Looks like you have to have 2 separate servers. Can't run both simultaneously?

Ah.. understood.. yea.. I can see how that happens... since you can create more unique templates with predefined defaults for like resellers.. etc..

Seems not... doesn't look like you can attach more than 1 particular server type per entry... In other words..
    1. IceCast server instance running on port 1000
    2. ShoutCast(v2) server instance running on port 1001
    3. ShoutCast(v1) server instance running on port 1002
    4. IceCast server instance running on port 1003 ( 2nd icecast server )
If there are multiple entries under my username, for example, I could manage each individually.

I haven't come across a numerical limit/cap regarding the amount of server entries per customer tho. Suppose the theoretical cap would be a box's available/open ports.

Couldn't even figure out how to assign both to your username, without creating a completely separate username. Really weird if you ask me. I assumed the user would be able to choose between the two at any given time.

tbh.. I think it's like, far from intuitive on that front.. in the demo admin control panel there's a multi-server account set up... but for the life of me I've not been able to figure out how without simply adding a new account.

The only way I successfully did something similar... multiple servers on same account.. was using the reseller template when creating a new account... I've not messed about with it too too much tho.. but due to the nature of reseller accounts in general.. I'd suspect that a template can be put together based off of that template.

I'm trying to not reference the manual too too much ( other than referencing protocol implementation )... I like to fuzz about control panels 'blindly' to see how intuitive getting around the user interfaces truly are to reach intended goals... it's the way I tend to gauge user's potential experience.

Good observations all around. Yeah, I've been through the manual and helpdesk and FAQ hundreds of times, and just can't seem to do it.

Is there a basic relay function that takes accepts shoutcast that my system can connect to and my clients can connect to the server to listen?

sounds like you mean.... you serve up the content as a dj to the server.. then have others listen to that broadcast?

if so.. I believe that's exactly how @Konstantin set his up.. he's broadcasting from his system into the shoutcast server.. all the info/addresses you need are under [ General >> Quicklinks ].

your source password can be found @ [ Configuration >> Settings >> Stream >> Source password ]

( you may need to setup a DJ account under [ Configuration >> DJ ] )

    ....

if you instead mean... to relay a previously established stream out from your server.. and have users connect to your server... yes.. but that main/source server needs to be set up to allow relaying.. [ Configuration >> Settings >> Master Relaying or Mountpoint Relaying ]
    hope that helps

    yup just verified it...
    1. as a host provider, i created a re-seller account on the demo control panel...
    2. as the re-seller, i can create multiple sub-accounts each with its own server type...
( essentially nearly identically to the way you can as host )
seems like once an account is created tho... the server type cannot be changed without re-creating the specific sub-account.

now... also fussed around with templates... seems it's nothing more than a way to set pre-determined 'defaults' to the same fields you have when creating "user" / "reseller".. only difference is instead of entering username/passwords.. u have template name / template desc.

I've tried those details in quick links, but none allows edcast to connect to the server, and I do have a DJ setup for my SL persona. I also cannot start the server using shoutcast unless if i upload media to where Auto-DJ wants to find media.

The whole setup and requirements seems kind of odd.

Edit: The only relaying option i see is for the server to connect to my server in house, which isn't going to happen because my ip is dynamic. I also dont have any mount points in any of my SC configuration pipeline.
