Yesterday I got my free VPS from here within 2 hours and was very happy with that. I just noticed something with the download speed over IPv4. Here's the speedtest (Speedtest.net only offers IPv4 tests): Here's a benchmark: Benchmark started on Tue May 9 19:06:05 EDT 2017 Full benchmark log: /root/bench.log System Info ----------- Processor : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU L5639 @ 2.13GHz CPU Cores : 1 Frequency : 533.322 MHz Memory : 256 MB Swap : MB Uptime : 17:35, OS : Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS Arch : x86_64 (64 Bit) Kernel : 2.6.32-042stab120.16 Hostname : Speedtest (IPv4 only) --------------------- Your public IPv4 is Location Provider Speed CDN Cachefly 1.16MB/s Atlanta, GA, US Coloat 1.05MB/s Dallas, TX, US Softlayer 1.15MB/s Seattle, WA, US Softlayer 1.15MB/s San Jose, CA, US Softlayer 1.17MB/s Washington, DC, US Softlayer 1.14MB/s Tokyo, Japan Linode 1.17MB/s Singapore Softlayer 1.11MB/s Rotterdam, Netherlands id3.net 1.18MB/s Haarlem, Netherlands Leaseweb 1.17MB/s Speedtest (IPv6 only) --------------------- Your public IPv6 is Location Provider Speed Atlanta, GA, US Linode 9.63MB/s Dallas, TX, US Linode 15.1MB/s Newark, NJ, US Linode 12.8MB/s Fremont, CA, US Linode 18.5MB/s Chicago, IL, US Steadfast 26.5MB/s Tokyo, Japan Linode 16.9MB/s Singapore Linode 5.81MB/s Frankfurt, Germany Linode 6.48MB/s London, UK Linode 7.00MB/s Haarlem, Netherlands Leaseweb 7.49MB/s Disk Speed ---------- I/O (1st run) : 172 MB/s I/O (2nd run) : 174 MB/s I/O (3rd run) : 165 MB/s Average I/O : 170.333 MB/s Just a test download from a server in Las Vegas: Length: 100000000 (95M) Saving to: '100MB.test' 100MB.test 100%[===================>] 95.37M 24.2MB/s in 4.0s 2017-05-09 20:46:55 (24.1 MB/s) - '100MB.test' saved [100000000/100000000] I noticed after doing the three tests that for some reason IPv6 internet access is faster, which I kinda find odd. Was that intended? I mean your supplying free VPS for everyone who signs up with a paid domain so I can't complain, but I sorta find it weird that IPv6 has better internet access, usually it's the same. If someone can help, that would be great. Thanks! I'm loving this service!
