    Two issues here:
    1) A status page should not be public as it is information competition may be looking for.
    2) It may be a hassle to update on the long run but that is of course up to Bryan.

I'm not sure that I want to admit to the number of cups of coffee I've had. :)

Seriously though, Instafree hosting has been pretty reliable in my experience, so I'm not sure a status report is needed. We did have a problem because I had a link in my sig, but Bryan got on top of that pretty quickly, and he seems to have fixed the vulnerability. His tight control over membership means that we are less likely to have problems in the future as well.

Would you have a status page for each server, the forum, or just an overall one.

We have a status page. http://instafree.com/status.php
More informational about the servers/datacenters in general.

Doesn't list any incidents, but they are rare. Outages and such are something I like to keep in the hidden areas of the forum, not to hide them, but because if it's due to a DDoS attack or something, the last thing we need is those being publicized where they can see it and see if it's working, etc.

Way more of a head Ake then I want. :(

EDIT: I added a status page back, less of a issue from the above system.

Hey! I'm James Brooks, the creator of Cachet. Thanks for sharing this!

@Hussam Al-Tayeb let me address your issues:
    1. I've always pushed that a status page should add transparency to your service or business. Your customers should know that something is wrong. And, in v2.4 (which is under development) we've added the ability to hide component groups for unauthenticated users.
    2. It's really easy! If you install with Git, it's just a couple of commands! Also, you don't have to update, Cachet is solid for the most part (always a few hiccups though).
@Ian did you follow our documentation? https://docs.cachethq.io if you'd like to try again, you can email support@alt-three.com and we'll see what's up.

    Thanks guys! :)

Hi. I completely agree about transparency. My previous ISP used to hide their downtime so they would not lose customers. It wasn't fair since most of issues were due to negligence. Welcome to the forums :)

Big fan of your status page. Did you guys stop using PHP Composer? Do you need to be root to install ?

@James Brooks I'm on Web hosting now and don't quite know how to install it.
However it's cool looking just wish I can use that one and not my custom one. :(
