Our servers are moving! Well...some of them anyway.

Our Dallas datacenter is moving everything from one location to another. The move will affect all hosting accounts here, as well as the Dallas Teamspeak servers.

We are going to physically migrate these servers on 7 January 2016 after 9 PM CST.

We will make sure to have things migrated as quickly as possible without complications. We are planning to get everything back online within 1 hour.

The new datacenter is only a mile away and in the same city. We are expecting these migrations to go fairly smoothly and be as painless as possible.

With this migration, we are expecting to grow faster as a result of bigger footprint and better connectivity with private peering with providers such as Cloudflare, Akamai, Google, AWS, Facebook, Netflix, etc.

Please prepare your applications for this downtime. Since this is not a move to new servers, and the hardware is simply being relocated, we expect there to be zero issues after the network is restored in the new location.

We are sorry for the late notification of this migration, but the exact date was not communicated by the datacenter.

This website and forum will remain online during the migration. Should you have any questions, ask away.

Okay.......maybe not. It might be happening tonight instead. :p

Datacenter hasn't updated us, but it certainly didn't happen last night.

If the same company is just relocating, maybe IP addresses won't need changing.

There will no IP changes specifically associated with the move.

The move has not happened yet. They extended it potentially to next week now, with some more tonight. No idea where we are in that schedule, which is very frustrating. :(

Uptime was very good until the short DDoS attack and the migration. Was 99.995% for over 660 days prior to the migration.

By the way, no one can actually give you 100% uptime. Even companies like OVH experience occasional downtime on some servers and in some locations due to connection outages.

Cloudflare with their network in every continent has outages too in different locations https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/

I am not sure if it is the php upgrade or the server location change but I think page loading is slightly faster now.

Could be a number of things. The new datacenter is literally right down the street from the old one, but it allowed the addition of more network carriers, which could be where you're seeing the difference. The only way to compare would of course be traceroutes between the two, but it's definitely possible that a different carrier with shorter routes is being utilized to your ISP.

Either way, I'm glad to hear. :D
