If the video is going to take no longer than 10 minutes to record I highly suggest you scrap fraps and get Bandicam @Bryan. The free version has a watermark and 10 min cap, the full version is about $30 for life time license. It is so much better than Fraps, hence it still being updated, unlike Fraps that has been abandoned since 2014.

OBS is great too, whether you stream or record, but it does take setting up and getting the recording settings right. Bandicam just is dead simple, no need to bother with bit rate etc, just set an output location (by default the Videos folder), set a hotkey for record and/or screenshot (I use F12 for start/stop record and PrtScr for screenshot), then set the record settings such as the codec, export file format etc (I export to MP4 rather than AVI as it's far more supported video software wise).

Then to record something on the desktop click the desktop recording mode, a on screen bar will show, and you can crop it even to a open window or to a size you want so only what you want recorded gets recorded (gotta keep the adult cat films safe).

    Whatever works, right Bryan?!
I’m sorry for my delays in replies, I’ve been on vacation as you know with 256 kb/s lol.
Nevertheless, I managed to make it in to the raffle

or... if you really really want the simplest setup... install the slimjet browser

    https://www.slimjet.com/

and use it's built-in 'tab recording' and record the tab right from the browser, like I just did:

There's even a portable version if wanted on their downloads page

I've given up. I just used Fraps on 1/1 and uploaded the damn thing as a .avi file. Guess I could have run it through ffmpeg to convert it but whatever. Ha ha ha! I look like that cat with the toast on his head after all this crazy video stuff. :p

Video of the drawing in all its huge .avi splendor can be found here: Video!

And since the rules were one prize per person, the leftovers are probably going to have to be given to the other participants in no particular order. :D

    Congrats to all the winners.

Both of my numbers were prime numbers, and only one other prime number won a prize, no single digit number won a prize either. I'm not sure how relevant that is, but we are computer guys, so we have to notice things like that. :)

If possible, I'd like to jump the queue, and make an early claim to a prize. I'd like an upgrade to my GenuineFree hosting package if possible. That is if nobody wants to pre-empt me. :)

Thanks for running this contest Bryan, it's a nice start to the new year.
